I have been teaching since I was in high school, and have enjoyed each lesson. I emphasize a strong fundamental base and building upon each students individual interests to help them develop their musical curiosity. I like to model lessons after an ideal practice session, starting with a fundamental warmup and development, moving into scale work, and then addressing the repertoire being studied. I always take my students' interest in mind when selecting repertoire and make sure they are staying engaged through the lessons as well as wanting to practice outside the lessons. Read More

I spend a lot of time performing on various stages, playing guitar, banjo, and keyboards primarily. I love sharing what I know with others, and I especially love seeing someone I've taught succeed in their chosen path. I've taught young children how to collaborate musically, I've taught people to play the banjo, guitar, piano, and I've taught music classes to bigger groups. I started to teach privately in June 2012, teaching both voice and early piano. I teach students out of their homes, or a space of their choice. I have mostly worked out of their local schools or churches. I encourage and emphasize regular practice on a consistent schedule. I encourage hard work, but also fun when practicing, and during lessons to help maintain a student's growth and interest. I encourage my students to enjoy their instrument and encourage them to find music they wish to learn that interest them, as well as classical pieces. Read More

My teaching experience dates back to my high school years where i would actually walk to a students home to teach. I have been teaching for over 50 years. Students leave with a sense of excitement and accomplishment and look foward to the next weeks lesson.
