For my beginner students it varies for me when it comes to my delivery method I like to use colors and shapes to be reflective. I use the Bruce Pearson "Standard of Excellence Book 1. with this learning method it allows me to develop the student in a pace that works for them allowing the basic fundaments of music, Fingering, scales, & solo pieces with diagrams and pictures demonstrating the steps. for my Intermediate and Advance level I use the same book but Book 2 teaching similar as Book 1 but it also gives more styles of fingering and more detailed & intense lessons. I believe that one of the most important things a musician can do is to find and develop their own voice on their instrument. Listening to the greats like Miles Davis, Jaco Pastorius, Jimi Hendrix, and Chick Corea illustrate how a unique voice can manifest itself and make the music so much more powerful. Additionally, finding their own voice is important outside of music as well. To keep students engaged and improving, we will also set smaller more immediately achievable goals. Read More

For piano students I usually use Piano Adventures method books while supplementing with scales, pop and classical repertoire, theory, ear training, history and more. For ukulele and guitar we focus on strumming patterns, rhythm, chords, and repertoire anywhere from rock or pop to classical. Sometimes I will use a method book for guitar or ukulele students if they like that fit. I subscribe to Everand to access a library of music regularly for my students. Read More

My methods of teaching change with each student. All individuals learn differently. I start by seeing where each individual is and how they react to the material. We first learn basics and move as fast as the individual can or wants to. I want all my students to play pieces by themselves and with others (not just the same instruments). Im always wanting my students to be a well rounded individual in music and in life. Read More

I've always viewed music as a blessing in my life and I want to share it with as many students as I can. Read More
