I'm relatively new to the teaching life, but I love it regardless. I started in September of 2018 with one student who I taught throughout the semester, and seeing him grow throughout the months was satisfying unlike anything else I've experienced. I taught one student a semester due to my school commitments but still managed to teach them a lot and open their eyes to the world of music. It's very important to me for students grow a passion for music. I celebrate every victory with them, no matter the size. Helping a student grow over time by setting really obtainable goals every week and setting short and long time goals. For younger piano students and beginners, I prefer to start them out on the Faber and Faber "Piano Adventures" method series. This series tends to be inexpensive, touches on classical exerpts while teaching students proper techniques, and builds on concepts in a way that solidifies the information in a student's brain. For string students, I focus on chords, beginning with the most simple and continuing with For older students (teenagers and adults) I assess what the student is interested in learning, and steer my instruction toward their goals.
