I've been teaching and leading sectionals for four years now, and have taught lessons on both fiddle and voice! It's an honor to be able to spread the love of music to students, as music has changed my life. Consistent practice is important, but so is finding what the student loves to practice. Music should be fun, even as it's hard work! Students are encouraged to write, explore their own creativity, and explore other avenues of music beyond performance, like learning music theory and notation, as well as the basics of music software, if they're interested. Every student comes to music with a unique mix of goals, learning styles, and personal interests, so I make it a point to understand what motivates them and what kind of music truly excites them. I am a passionate musician whose love of guitar is infectious. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of New Haven in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Sound Recording, and have taught privately in Nashville and now Denver. I play locally in several bands and projects, and encourage my students to come see me live to watch the lessons I teach put to use on stage. Read More

During both my doctoral and masters degrees, I worked as a Teaching Assistant in the flute studio. Along with teaching private lessons to undergraduate students, I have experience leading studio classes/group lessons, technique/scale classes, and I designed a semester-long class titled, Teaching Technique through Repertoire, which I later presented as part of a pedagogy project. In Texas, I had the opportunity to provide lessons at a middle school through the Lubbock Independent School District, where I taught both individual and group lessons. Read More
