Beginning violin is important. I use Hal Leonard's Essential Elements to help teach the functionality and basic building blocks of playing the violin. Moving forward, the best introduction into violin music itself is the Suzuki Violin School volume set. Each book helps students through various levels during their beginner phase. These pieces not only serve as educational material but also as solo repertoire for beginners in recitals. Soprano, Amanda W. is recently graduated from Bowling GreenState University with her Master's in Vocal Performance. For her undergrad, she attended Eastern Michigan University and received her Bachelor's in Vocal Performance. She attended the Utah Vocal Arts academy over the summer of 2017. For the summer of 2016, she was given a tuition scholarship by the American Institute of Musical Studies to study in Graz, Austria. I like to take a global approach to teaching percussion. The things that can be learned by playing on a pad with drumsticks can be transferred to other instruments such as Marimba, Timpani, and Multiple-Percussion. I find it essential to teach students good fundamentals in order for them to progress without having to fix bas habits. I also like to curb my lessons to fit what each student needs.
