My music teaching experience goes back to 2013 when I taught English at a public school in Tampa, Florida. I've always been a guitar fanatic and my students knew this, so one student, Robert, asked me if I'd like to give him one-on-one lessons on guitar. Besides showing my friends techniques and certain songs, this was the first official student that I had, and I've had several students since that time. Read More

Simply put, I love music. I listen to music and make music and teach music in different styles, on different instruments, in different ways. I've recorded and performed on trombone, trumpet, bass, guitar, ukulele, tuba, and more. I've played with symphony orchestras in Carnegie Hall and with rock bands in Brooklyn basements. I've shared the stage withjazz greats Maynard Ferguson, Jimmie Lunceford, Conrad Herwig, "Blue" Lou Marini, and Jeff Coffin (Flecktones), androckers Dee Snider (Twisted Sister), Scott Weiland (Stone Temple Pilots), and Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater). For beginning students, I prefer to start them on a book based in warming up and getting used to movement in hands if we are playing piano. Throughout my teaching, I incorporate music theory and ear training into my classes as it creates a fantastic bridge to understanding the instrument. As we get used to our new instrument, I will recommend some songs to get started on and allow my students to come to class with ideas and songs that they want to learn how to play or sing. Read More

Because everyone learns differently, I teach from a technique I've developed which I refer to as the blank slate method. Though I do utilize workbooks for their very informative and easy to understand nature, I prefer to teach each student based on what they know or what comes naturally to them. This involves you the student, your instrument, and a pen and paper. For beginner students who are children, we work together to learn a simple song so that they can feel a sense of accomplishment and be further motivated to continue their studies. Read More

A hybrid of traditional notation, playing by ear, basic right and left hand technique followed by custom lesson plans based on individual students' interests and artistic direction. My style is generally as relaxed or as focused as the student is ready for. Meaning that if the student is able to practice an hour or more a day that will lead to a more focused atmosphere, and if there's less time to practice then we adjust accordingly. Read More

Upon turning 8 years old, it had been my lifelong dream to play and teach music for a living. This of course marked the point in time when I first picked up the guitar. I was lucky enough to be taught by four phenomenal instructors - Dennis DelGaudio (Billy Joel guitarist 2009), Chris Jusino, Artie Blaurock (Sweet Revenge, Needulhed), and Rick Stone (Jazz Guitar at Hofstra University). Each of my instructors helped to mold my style of playing, and inspired me to seriously pursue what I loved the most. Read More

I tend to start my lessons with discussing what has brought the student to their instrument, and what music they love. After learning about their hopes and goals, I start teaching from a technical perspective to help them get a handle on their instruments. From there I discuss practice techniques, music and guides to listen to, and start teaching them songs and repertoire they are passionate about. I love incorporating listening, writing, and seeing live music into a student's learning experience. Read More
