I'm a veteran guitar instructor and performer who loves sharing my knowledge with my students. I have been teaching and playing professionally for the past 16 years. In 2006, I graduated from Capital University's Conservatory of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree in Classical Guitar Performance. I have been singing since I was 6, playing trumpet since I was 10, and I picked up guitar in my early 20's. I am now 49 and have taught voice, guitar, trumpet for over 7 years from my cozy home. I have been part of many musical ensembles (in many genres) in my 30 year career and have session work that's currently located in the Seattle Rock Roll museum. I don't teach out of method books. I will write notes during the lesson and give them to the student, and sometimes give them websites to look up or other resources I feel would be helpful. I like to teach the student how to play songs from bands that they like, or whatever else they are interested in. I find that not having a book allows us the freedom to take the lessons in any direction that we want, without having to follow a set path. Read More
