My teaching style is the same for all of my students. We all learn at our own pace, it is important as a teacher to understand this and not push the student or give too much to work on in one lesson. The students skill grow stronger at a gradual and comfortable pace. Even if it is learning one scale a week that is progress! Since graduating from Bethany College in 2010, I taught at a music studio in Wheeling, WV. Unfortunately, the studio closed down. Along with teaching there, I was giving private lessons from home and continue to do so. Although I began performing and teaching while still a teenager, I consider the beginning of my full time career to begin upon my graduation from Berklee (1979). I had taught on and off through C.A. House Music in Wheeling, WV, and also as a teaching assistant during my years of graduate study. In 1994, I developed WVU's first program in Guitar Performance, where I taught until 2018.
