For all of my students, I try to incorporate a sense of body awareness and finding ways of learning that are the most comfortable and fitting for their specific needs. My instructional methods are customized to fit the individual student's preferences, goals and learning style. I never force my "agenda" or "method" on anyone. I cater to my students' guitar and musical goals. If a student wants to learn to read music, I generally suggest method books such as Hal Leonard Guitar Method or Alfred Guitar Method. Some students do not have any desire to learn to read music, so in that case, I use tablature to write out the songs for them. Read More

Nothing compares to the feeling you get when you see your pupils happily growing and accomplishing every goal they set up for themselves. Since everyone is unique and works at their own pace, I don't think it's fair to approach every student the same way. I'm very encouraging and patient! I really think everyone goes at their own pace and anyone can get to what's fun about music for them with some practice. I'm here to help in any way. And am great at looking for what makes you tick, specifically, and then structuring lessons around what is inspiring and exciting to you. I try to make more technical aspects fun and help people through the initial phases of awkwardness or discomfort with a miminum of stress and allow to feel okay with the process and enjoy the progress that comes. I have a very laidback, low-pressure approach - if you didn't practice, it's not the end of the world! I think back to my own days of taking lessons and remember how much more I improved in this type of environment, and how much more I loved the process.
