I also tend to mix in some fun songs that are more well known using my own arrangements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. I need and expect my students to practice at least 15 minutes of per day, more if possible. I typically Faber's Piano Adventures or Adult beginner books, although I have also used the American Popular Piano lesson series.
