For older students I will utilize what the student is working on in school as well as determining weak areas that need to be addressed, and the areas the student might want to focus on (classical technique, jazz theory and playing, etc.). We like lessons to be fun and challenging. Sight reading abilities really help musicality and ability for spontaneity. Part of each lesson is spent on good posture, breathing and excellent practice methods. We slow down the difficult passages and get them played correctly.
