For beginners, I start with the basics of sound production, and move onto reading music and basic songs shortly after. I try to teach things both visually and by ear, so that the student does not feel that they have to wait to play fun music until they are advanced enough. .I am passionate about music and the transforming power it has in people's lives. I have Suzuki teacher training in Flute Book one from East Tennesse University in 1996. I have my Masters in Education from Lehigh University. Currently I am the Music Specialist for Lehigh University's Child Care Center, and I direct the Youth Choir at St. Theresa Parish in Hellertown. I have used these books in my development and am very comfortable and confident with their ability to help studnets progress. For younger students (under eight years old) I usually use the Alfred all in one book.. for older children, I use the Bastian set of four books: piano performance, technic and theory.
