I love sharing the gift of music with students of all ages. In 2018, I graduated from Temple University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Flute Performance and Music History. Performing all over the world has been one of the greater experiences of my life as a musician, and I've had the opportunity to play throughout the U.S. and in several European countries such as Ireland, Italy, Austria, and more. For students just starting I like to use the Rubank Method Books to establish solid fundamentals. As students progress I like to base the lessons on the needs and interests of my students. I like to have students play a variety of types of music. This includes classic, jazz, pop, rock and more. Read More

I currently teach in the public schools during the day, and I perform and teach by night. I love encouraging my students to develop their skills while maintaining their love of music and learning. Honing a craft should not crush creativity, it should not stifle their individuality. Music making should be natural, passionate, and my job is to give them the tools to become the flutist *they* want to be! Read More

I have brought beginners who have never touched music before to work up to Bach and Vivaldi, as well as to their favorite classics like Fleetwood Mac. On the other hand, I have a high level of training and have coached young semi professionals before auditions and competitions to help fine tune their playing before the big day. I know what judge panels are looking for and this can be a helpful tool for a student trying to break into an academic or professional setting. Read More

For beginners, I start with the basics of sound production, and move onto reading music and basic songs shortly after. I try to teach things both visually and by ear, so that the student does not feel that they have to wait to play fun music until they are advanced enough. I believe in a strong base of music theory (scales, arpeggios, understanding intervals), so that the student can use their musical knowledge in many subject areas. Read More

I have not yet started my teaching career but I am super excited to start gaining experience with all of you! I have taken a flute pedagogy class at my undergraduate, Gettysburg College and a woodwind and brass method class during my graduate studies at The Longy School of Music. I have much more experience performing and participating in summer flute masterclasses. I do hope to gain professional music performance experience by being in an orchestra, opera, or ballet, doing chamber music, and organizing small solo concerts. Read More

I always encourage students to find contemporary books with fun songs to try out, like a Disney series or pop songs. In addition, for those who are in school band, I highly recommend they bring in their materials at the beginning and have a lesson or two on them, especially if they have any solos or auditions pending. As the student advances, so do the materials. At the intermediate to advanced level, we will explore more technically engaging solos, and focus a lot on etude and scale work. Read More
