I taught my first private lesson my junior year of high school, and never stopped. Throughout college and graduate school I have taught dozens of students of all ages, raging between 5 years old and 50. Private lessons in students homes, my own space, and at several different music schools, including CJC music, and the All Children's art Center in Boonton. My teaching methods vary depending on the student and what skills and weaknesses they might have. There are many methods I use, but I will not name them all for time sake and just name a few. Students in schools playing in concert band i will start them with some fundamental rudiment books such as "Stick Control" and "150 Solo Rudimental Solos". For me, witnessing the "ah-hah" moment in a student's face is priceless. It means that a certain concept or idea has been understood by the student. I use the first lesson to find out what the student is inspired by and what aspect of their playing they wish to improve on depending on their age and skill level. Once I find out what inspires them, I'll be better informed as how to keep them inspired and moving towards certain goals. Read More

I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Glassboro State College (Rowan University) in Glassboro with a bachelor's degree in Music Education and Percussion. I have been playing for 46 years. I am also a music technologist and can instruct students in the use of Software such as Mixxx (DJ software), Audacity (music creation and editing).
