Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. I began teaching in 2009 while I was attending the University of Massachusetts Lowell. While I was a student I began to study with some truly great musicians who really helped me realize my potential. I got some jobs teaching area high school drumlines and marching bands and really enjoyed the experience. When I first started playing I was mostly interested in marching bands and drumlines. Hello folks, my name is Andy. I am a 23-year-old musician with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Framingham State University. I am predominantly a bass guitarist, with an affinity towards jazz, psychedelic rock, alternative, metal, prog, and sometimes just straight up pop. I greatly enjoy working with younger musicians and spreading the practice of musical exploration. Generally layed back low pressure lessons, but I will push a student if they let me. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. However, my priority with first students , is to make sure they are engaged and loving what they are doing within the first 10 minutes. I have sat in front of , and studied with some of the most gifted musicians in the world, so suggesting books and instruction material is easy. For beginning students, I typically begin by teaching how to use proper technique and how to read music, chord changes or tablature. Once the student is ready, I will work with the student on pieces or songs that we choose together. For guitar students, I use songs as a basis for teaching scales, new chords and improvisation. For drum students, I use songs and solos as a means for teaching rudiments, grooves, fills and improvisation. Read More
