I have always believed that music is a conversation between the musician and the audience, and the instrument is the interpreter. With this in mind, with any age, I start with a regular conversation. Knowing the passion, interest level, and motivation of the students helps me create a method of teaching that is specific to the individual. I also learn their experience and knowledge level. As drum instructor, I taught beats, fills, song structure, technique, and kit-setup, to a group between the ages of 7 and 14 in the summer of 2016 with the "Girls Rock Camp Houston", a non-profit organization. I volunteered to an additional guidance position as a "Band Coach" in 2016 to a group of young teen students. If there at level three but haven't touched 16th note triplets and go from there.
