I am new to teaching, especially online. I begin teaching in my early college days as a freshman/sophomore to those I knew who would reach out to me for lessons. They were my acquaintances. We went through mostly preliminary skills, embouchure, consistent tone, tuning, knowing how you play and how your clarinet functions. Though keep in mind this was a couple years ago. Through ensembles and playing in a clarinet studio I feel I have developed a solid background. Read More

I am an experienced and music-certified teacher of 7 years specializing in woodwind instruments. All ages/ability levels welcome! My students will learn how to develop effective practice routines, learn how to read music and play songs by ear, and establish a strong foundation of technique and music theory so you can start playing your favorite songs AND sound great while doing so! I am flexible with scheduling and locations, and can either travel to you or meet with students in my own personal studio. Read More

My education in Boston demanded management of a vigorous rehearsal schedule, leadership within music organizations, and countless hours of individual practice and rigorous study. Read More

For beginning students who are younger, I prefer starting them with beginner method books and ear training. Brain and physical development can proceed at very different rates. I believe in the constant testing of the student's readiness of various musical elements such as absolute pitch, rhythm, reading, finger control, note reading, attention span, interest in music, intelligence, etc. Finding each child's strength and weakness will be the key to determine the path of the repertoire they will be playing. I am extremely dedicated to my students. Understanding how exciting it is to play with accompaniment, I have played piano for multiple student recitals in order for them to learn collaborative skills as well. The piano is also a great way to teach harmony, music theory and improvisation because of its a visual and kinaesthetic elements. When a piano is not available, I make arrangements in my notation software, so that they can still gain the skills and experience, therefore having the music making process a more emotionally rewarding activity.
