After getting my bachelor's degree in music education from University of Maryland, I taught general, band, and strings in Montgomery County in Maryland. Then I taught ukulele, keyboard, drums, guitar, band, and choir in Dayton, Ohio. Now I am excited to teach lessons in Pittsburgh. I was exposed to bands like Circa Survive and Lydia around the same time I was getting into monster players like Chris Potter, Kenny Garrett, and Chick Corea. I have students performing in PMEA district band, honors bands, HS marching bands and community bands. I work with clarinet and saxophone students of all levels, and beginner piano students. When students are interested, I can provide performance experience through a few recital opportunities. I am constantly exploring new teaching techniques and finding ways to best reach my students individually. My private teaching experience began in high school, when I began accepting beginner clarinet students. I served as the clarinet section leader and then woodwind captain in my high school marching band, where I was responsible for conducting rehearsals and sectionals as well as teaching music to other woodwind students in grades 9-12. I expanded upon my experience working with younger children in college, when I began taking private students of all ages and worked with children ages 5-8 for 2 years at a summer camp. Read More

In 2019, I received the Semper Fidelis award from the Marine Corps in recognition of my diligence, dedication and musical excellence as a performing high school bandsman and soloist. I continued my clarinet studies at the University of Pittsburgh, where I recently graduated with a major in Music Performance alongside my additional major in Computational Biology. I have served as principal clarinetist of the University of Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra since my freshman year of college, and have played in several chamber groups. Read More
