Libby writes out lesson plans for all her students according to what she and the student think is appropriate for the student's present acheivement. My teaching style is interactive and utilizes positive reinforcement to achieve the desired results. I demonstrate often, and I also ask the student to play back to me what I demonstrate. This is particularly helpful with online lessons, as the lag time makes it impossible to play together as we would in person. Music is fun, and while hard work and practice are important and essential, so is enjoyment of music and enjoyment of one's instrument. My main responsibilities in regards to teaching were leading instrument sectionals, and giving advice one on one. This would continue summer after summer until I reached college. If my student has a more "just for fun" attitude, the lesson will inevitably be a more light hearted feel.
