My goal with all students is that they enjoy learning, become self-motivated to practice, and consider their musical abilities as a gift which they can choose to share with others whenever they feel comfortable to do so. I have experience using a variety of method books and can easily recommend appropriate materials. Currently, I am studying at the University of Colorado Boulder with Professor David Requiro to receive my Bachelor of Music degree in Cello Performance. In addition to my educational experience, I have also attended several summer music institutes including the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, Innsbrook Institute, Online Summer Strings Intensive, and the Bowdoin International Music Festival. Every student is an individual and learns differently, so I strive to develop exercises and practice approaches that work for the particular student I'm working with. I always try to mix compliments and constructive criticism in my teaching. I encourage my students to record themselves throughout the week so that I can give feedback between lessons. I strive to create a friendly and relaxed learning environment where both teacher and student work together to gain greater mastery of the cello. Read More
