I have taught several students while I was studying music. I won the third place of the Taipei City Competition of Music among many outstanding competitors in 2015. On the other hand, I strived for the chance of participating in many performances. In 2014, I performed Edward Elgar's Cello Concerto in E minor, Op. 85 with the local orchestra in Hualien. In 2017, I played Prokofiev’s Sinfonia-Concertante, Op.125 at my recital at Soochow University, which was praised by my teachers and the audiences. Read More

I am sure to acknowledge accomplishments, not only by finding and setting milestones with each student to discover during lessons, but by (as effectively as I can) creating opportunities for students to perform a recital and demonstrate what they have learned for friends and family. I believe in positive affirmation and goal setting. My goal with all students is that they enjoy learning, become self-motivated to practice, and consider their musical abilities as a gift which they can choose to share with others whenever they feel comfortable to do so. I have experience using a variety of method books and can easily recommend appropriate materials. I love seeing my students grow and make progress toward their goals. Every student is an individual and learns differently, so I strive to develop exercises and practice approaches that work for the particular student I'm working with. I always try to mix compliments and constructive criticism in my teaching. I encourage my students to record themselves throughout the week so that I can give feedback between lessons. One of my favorite parts about teaching is that oftentimes I learn just as much as the student in the teaching process. For beginner students, I start by working through Hal Leonard's Essential Elements book one for cello. After completing this book of fundamentals, I have the student work through Suzuki books 1-5.
