It has been 16 years for playing cello and orchestra whether in school and outside of school, and also for teaching experience. Every student is an individual and learns differently, so I strive to develop exercises and practice approaches that work for the particular student I'm working with. I always try to mix compliments and constructive criticism in my teaching. I encourage my students to record themselves throughout the week so that I can give feedback between lessons.
