I'm a passionate instructor that focuses on each individual's goals needed to further their love for music or to be audition ready at all times. I graduated from the University of Louisville with a degree in Music performance, emphasis in voice and have continued my career with music. I believe my students will learn at their highest potential by personalizing each lesson around what they need. For example: if a student is interested in auditioning for College or specific ensembles or groups, I will incorporate the audition requirements into the lesson so they feel adequately prepared when they walk into their audition. I began teaching guitar lessons informally in college. I learned then that I had a knack for helping people understand concepts and techniques on the guitar. I have had more regular students since my early twenties, from young children to senior citizens. I want new students to have fun and learn things that are interesting to them and benefitial to their musical journey. Children should get their beginnings in technique books and eventually music that stimulates further growth and interest; and adults, like the kids, importance is placed on technique, but even moreso, good practice techniques! As adults we quickly lose patience and revert to bad habits when it comes to practice, and that slows growth, develops poor technique and narrows our abilities to only what we currently know. I am a highly motivated, hard-working, and outgoing individual.
