I can take 30 minutes or 45 minute classes I really enjoy working with kids they make me smile and make me wonder how this can be called work when it makes me so happy to educate them about music. Typically, we dedicate half the time to warm ups and tailored vocal exercises for technique development. In the latter half of the lesson, we apply these principles into song repertoire that can consist of assigned repertoire appropriate for your vocal growth and/or songs you are interested in singing.  Sammy delivers immediate results for his students and their individual vocal goals. I use a combination of sight singing, ear training, and standard theory. While there are many proven methods, every student is different. Learning abilities, comprehensive understanding, and prior knowledge can play a part in the methods that are used. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. My teaching experience dates back to high school when I started teaching cello to students in my school district's orchestra program. Since then, I have continued to teach freelance through personal connections, Musika, and various non-profit organizations. Furthermore, I am currently in my internship to become a board certified music therapist, and have experience teaching music to individuals with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, and dementia/Alzheimer's.
