I studied piano and violin during elementary, middle and high school, playing with the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra in the 70's. In college I pursued voice and violin and studied music theory, history of opera, orchestra, chorus. I was interested in acting and musical theatre and did further studies at MacPhail School of Music. (Minneapolis, Minnesota). I performed in night clubs, for weddings, churches and conferences over the years. Eventually, I sang and wrote songs on guitar and performed for many New Thought churches from 1980s - 2000's. Theory is emphasized as well as technique for both the piano and voice student. Most voice students will get a basic knowledge of music reading skills while piano students tend to have a bit more in depth studies. I've been teaching and leading sectionals for four years now, and have taught lessons on both fiddle and voice! It's an honor to be able to spread the love of music to students, as music has changed my life. Consistent practice is important, but so is finding what the student loves to practice.
