I received my BA in Saxophone Performance at the Indiana University Jacob's School of Music in 2009. In 2010, I moved to Chicago, IL, where I interned at recording studios, had my own studio for lessons, and toured around the south, mid-west and north-east with various musical groups. In early 2014, I moved to NYC where I began teaching at Fusion Academy (Brooklyn and Lincoln Center campus) where I taught Voice, Piano, Saxophone, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums, Music Production, Audio Engineering, and Small Ensembles for 3 1/2 years.

I am a lifetime musician, dedicated to the authentic exploration of the creative self. I sing, write/compose, produce, play saxophone, piano, guitar, bass guitar, and drums. Music has led me to play all around the U.S., as well as Morocco and France. As a teacher, I focus on what the student wants to achieve. I implement sound technique(s) through an avenue that best suits the student. Not everyone wants to be a concert pianist, or even a performing musician, so our lessons would be tailored to your exact wants and needs.
I began teaching private lessons in 2004. I had a small studio throughout my college days, and it started expanding once I moved to Chicago, and especially when I moved to NYC. My number one prerogative in teaching is to inspire my students - in life and in music. Wether you want to audition for a top college, or you love just writing songs in your bedroom, I have the experience on both sides to help you attain your goals. Our lessons can be as laid back or as strenuous as you want - we can focus on hardcore technique or we can focus on developing your inner musical voice. I'm here to facilitate exactly what you want out of music!
My method is simple. During our first lesson, we dive into any and everything that is important to you regarding music. Once we have a solid foundation of influences / skill level / goals, we can begin outlining a lesson plan together for the duration of your music lessons with me. Our lessons will be conversational - our ideas will bounce off of each other. I will never tell you what to do - I will only tell you what methods will and wont work. 'You can lead a horse to water, but you can't force it to drink' - this sums up my teaching style - I will give you every opportunity to learn and grow, but you must take advantage of it, as I will not force you to do anything.
