When lessons begin, students will need to acquire a viola. While most adults will start on a standard, full size, many children will start with a smaller model. As a child grows, the instrument will need to grow with them, and this makes renting an instrument a great option. Any music store staff, or Musika teacher will be able to help you in deciding the right size instrument for the student. Renting can be done on a monthly basis, and allows for less of a financial commitment.
Having lessons in your home can be a very convenient way to introduce music into your busy schedule. You will save time and money on travel, and will be able to have lessons whenever you schedule allows for it. By choosing this option, you are able to learn the instrument in a familiar place, while learning the same things that you would in an in-studio lesson.
Music lessons are tailored to the students specific needs. The teacher will work with each student individually to develope a lesson plan that ensures the most productivity. While working towards the students specific goals, there will be lessons in music theory, how to correctly handle the instrument, and how to develope the students own musicianship. While Musika does not mandate a particular style of teaching, if there is a method you are interested in we will do our best to match you with a teacher that specializes in that area.
Musika has adult students that begin working with us every day. Whether you have been playing for years, or are just begining your path as a musician, our teachers will work with you to help you acheive all of your goals. Our in studio lessons are a convenient option for busy adults, and our teachers will work to further you music education, no matter what skill level you are beginning at.
Children can start viola as early as age 4. Though there is a standard size for violas, they also come in smaller sizes which can be used by small children. As the students grow, they can move up in size, and the instrument can grow with them. Being one of the smaller members of the string family, the viola lends itself well to small hands. Any teacher, or music store professional can help you choose the correct size. On the viola, children will begin to learn how to handle the instrument correctly, read music, and develope their overall skills as a musician.
