I began my work as Music Director at Old St. Patrick's Church, part of the Diocese of Lansing. During my time there, I was able to develop a relevant choral program based on the characteristics and aesthetics of the parish. The choir grew, and I improved the vocal and musical skills of all its members, which allowed us to effectively support all liturgies. We performed several concerts focused on traditional sacred music, including a grand farewell concert at Sweet Heart of Mary Church in Detroit in June of 2022. Read More

I excel at taking the most self-motivated students to the highest level, and I don't hold anyone back in order to stay with a pre-determined method. All students learn to count the beat in a FUN and entertaining way. I save the last few minutes of every lesson for "musical games", which are usually ear training. Aside from establishing a general grounding in technique and structure, I tend to be rather open to the student's desire and potential for finding their own"voice" (though some exception is made for the Classical tradition of period/genre related style performance practices). I also encourage students to listen to experience performers, stressing their need to focus on details, and even open a critical discussion as to a performer's approach to his or her interpretation. I have had a passion since I was 6 years old for music, I recieved B.S in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from Central Michigan University and an Associates in Dance from University of Michigan. During which times I also performed with Flint Symphony Orchestra, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Lansing Symphony Orchestra, Eastern Michigan Symphony, and the Symphony Orchestra of Leon. I have received the level of Miestre or Master in Capoiera (African Brazilian Dance Marital Art) because of this training I am a Master Djembe Player. Read More
