The methods that I normally use are the Alfred Basic Piano Library, and the Faber and Faber Piano Adventures. I also use technique books such as Fingerpower, Hanon, and Czerny. I always incorporate Music Theory in my lessons as well as improvisation. i am familiar with the Royal Conservatory of Music technical requirements and find them necessary to any student wanting to become proficient at piano/keyboard playing. I use may online worksheets for theory, improvisation and fun repertoire as well. i am open to the needs of the student but also have a structured method of teaching so that all aspects of the music learning process is followed. My style involves around having a "recital" piece that we work on at all times, as well as technical exercises and different games to increase music theory, rhythm, sight reading, ear training, etc. We set goals and work to accomplish them in a timely manner. I always take time to make sure you as the student are comprehending what I'm explaining to you. Some technical instruction is done with arpeggios, scales, chords, etc., but in general, I try to keep the lesson as interesting as possible so that we can have fun while learning! Read More
