Most of my students use Alfred's Piano Course. After just a few lessons, we add in additional books and songs to expose the student to as much music as possible. I believe that the more music a student is exposed to, the better a musician he or she becomes. With the exception of recital pieces, I rarely spend more than a few weeks on one song, but instead focus on guiding students to play a wide variety of music at their level. Read More

While I was in the Marine Corps I would give lessons to students from different high schools when going on recruiting tours. I began teaching percussion immediately after high school. While attending EKU, I helped my former high school by teaching the percussion section during the marching band season. I taught the section every year for about 12 years before being hired as a full-time teacher and becoming the assistant director of the band. My method of teaching trumpet for begginers and advanced students is to first make certain the embouchure is correctly formed, the breathing is correct and the instrumentis held correctly. I'll have the student play for me to detect any areas of concern and consequently I generate lesson plans accordingly. I will introduce drills, etudes and solo pieces at the given time of apparent progress in the areas of concern. Hi! I'm Maeve. I am a professional soprano with 13 years of instruction and 4 years of paid experience as a performer under my belt. Since 2011, I have attended voice programs at Interlochen Center for the Arts, Brevard Music Center, and VOICExperience, and I regularly work in churches and sing weddings. I recently graduated from the University of Kentucky, where I studied with Dr. Dennis Bender.
