Hello! My name is Mark and I am excited to be your next vocal coach, instrumental or general music instructor. I graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in Music Education in 2014. While at WMU I had the privilege to study classical voice and vocal jazz, and even perform in the WMU Bronco Marching Band. Though I have taught on and off for the last fifteen years, my most formative experience as a teacher was my time teaching at School of Rock in 2015. Then I can customize a lesson plan for them which includes warming up, techniques, and repertoire. I sometimes find it helpful to discuss of elements music theory, aural skills, and reading music depending on the students desires in those areas. For every student I always start with the basics. What are the basics? Well, first and most important for getting you started is open chords. That along with pentatonic scales will really help to develope finger dexterity and get the student adjusted to proper hand and finger positioning on the guitar.
