When I teach, I always make sure that I present new concepts and ideas in a digestible way. I also make sure my student and I are always on the same page with their goals and their playing. If my students don't understand something or feel like they're in over their head, I don't rush them to figure it out. Backtracking is always seen as a positive thing. I really take a look at what the student needs to learn and what the student wants to learn because I've seen a lot of students giving up because the institution or teacher is giving to much theory and very poor practice. I try to balance those responsibilities to a point that the student will always be learning something new as long as I work on their motivation and consistency of keeping up so they can learn how to play anything they like and want. I have also studied piano, strings, voice for over 2 decades.
