Music has always been a part of my life. I became involved in music, theater and dance at a young age, performing in countless professional productions. In my teens and early adulthood, I began writing and recording music and became involved in a number of recording projects that led me to teaching. I gave my first lesson over a decade ago and I continue to perform when I can. I really enjoy teaching and working with people! My goal is to see each student learn at their own pace, and develop a love for music. My approach is to set realistic goals at each lesson, so that students can achieve, and have their achievements acknowledged, so they feel excited to progress and learn more. I am a passionate, motivated, and detailed instructor who loves to work with students of all ages, backgrounds, and levels. I am currently completing my bachelor degree for Violin Performance at Rice University's Shepherd School of Music. I absolutely love chamber music and I have had the honor of competing and placing in the prestigious Fischoff Chamber Music Competition in 2019. I began teaching private violin and viola lessons in 2012, and I greatly enjoy working with my students. They range in age from 3 1/2 to adult, and each one has been unique. After beginning lessons with my first student, teaching a semester of music theory, and teaching a summer camp, I became interested in Suzuki methodology and pedagogy. I find that for younger students especially, this method allows for more parent involvement at an age when many parents want to be more involved, and many children equally appreciate this involvement.
