I graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Instrumental Music Education, K-12, with minors in Jazz and Performance. In addition to performing in myriad musical idioms, I have made a career of private teaching, having conducted over 26,000 lessons since 2001. During the fall I also have been a low brass technician for a local marching band. Finally I have played in many pit performances for local high schools. After this, Erik continued teaching private lessons in Easton, Pennsylvania, building a studio focused on strong musical fundamentals, confidence, and long-term growth for students. He currently serves as the band director for the homeschool co-op Knowlton Fine Arts, where he leads students in ensemble playing and helps guide their musical development through structured band instruction.
