As a performing professional Musician who is continually learning, I would like to pass-on what I have gained throughout numerous years of Musical experiences. Having graduated with degrees from Manhattan School of Music, and from The Juilliard School, I "incorporate" Music Theory, Sight-reading and Ear Training as essential dimensions of my lessons, with the addition of playing Duets. Having performed under the direction of the world's most renown conductors [including Leanard Bernstein] and with Musicians, along with having studied with the finest instrumentalists are highlights of my career, along with having played Principal Trombone in the Norwalk Symphony for more than 16 years, having substituted on Broadway, and traveled with two International touring companys' Broadway Show productions. For beginning students, I typically start with the Ed Sueta beginning trombone book (this is the book I learned from when I first started). Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. As a jazz musician, I can also instruct students on jazz improvisation, harmony, theory, composition, ear training, etc. No matter what the student is interested in, I will guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun. Throughout ones progression, repertoire is introduced to reinforce techniques in a musical fashion. Read More

Moreover, the teacher who's job is to cultivate and direct is about twenty percent of the equation. With the proper guidance and orchestration , the student propels forward and gets to a level of competency with teach and practice. Some of the world's great artists, have done it this way and I believe for one that this approach works best as a personal direct from teacher to student. While a good teacher is essential, one who can see the scope of ability in a student and work with both the negatives and positives, the teacher herein is as mentioned a small part of the students success.
