For beginning students that are children ages 4-10, I typically use Faber Piano Adventures, using Faber Piano Adventures for Older Beginners usually around 11 yo and up. I also provide outside supplemental technique exercises if I feel they are needed. Once they become proficient in reading music I will begin to add solo repertoire that implements the techniques learned up to that point. I started Piano lessons at 6 and quickly received classical training to 12 years old. I have been playing professionally since 14 years old. I have enjoyed a freelance career as a music teacher, composer. performer, recording engineer. producer, and a multi instrumentalist. While being exposed to the intricacies of many styles of music growing up, I have developed a life long passion for studying those different genres. Later in Buffalo NY ,I taught at the Jewish Community center and privately for approximately four years where I also had some nice successes with children in piano and guitar, and where I coached a band specialized in music of the 60's and beyond from scratch to great concert performances in important venues. So I have experience in teaching piano, guitar, voice, ear training, harmony ,counterpoint, choir singing and ensemble and making the arrangements necessaries for their coordination as a group in many different styles from classical to folk and jazz and world music.
