My methods include a combination of the Pace Method, Alfred, Bastien, Faber and Hal Leonard Methods, and most recently the Helen Marlais method for succeeding at the piano. For students that are really serious about achievement and study, I am able to work with them to take the ABRSM exams. If they are a complete beginner and just want to learn to read and have an understanding of music, I will begin them with Faber's Adult Piano Adventures level 1 and go from there. As students progress into the advanced level, I use less method books and mainly focus on repertoire. For beginning students who are children, I usually start with a hodge podge of the Alfred Piano Series and the Suzuki Piano series. I also make sure that they have a holistic music education by including the study of music theory as well. For my adult students, I teach at the pace they are interested in learning using the Adult Alfred Piano series. I teach according to the student's ability and work on polishing strengths as well as building up weaknesses. Read More
