My methods include a combination of the Pace Method, Alfred, Bastien, Faber and Hal Leonard Methods, and most recently the Helen Marlais method for succeeding at the piano. If they are a complete beginner and just want to learn to read and have an understanding of music, I will begin them with Faber's Adult Piano Adventures level 1 and go from there. As students progress into the advanced level, I use less method books and mainly focus on repertoire. For beginning students who are children, I usually start with a hodge podge of the Alfred Piano Series and the Suzuki Piano series. I also make sure that they have a holistic music education by including the study of music theory as well. For my adult students, I teach at the pace they are interested in learning using the Adult Alfred Piano series.
