I started teaching when I was in college just a few private lessons here and there, which eventually landed my first job at a private school teaching clarinet. I graduated from the University of Delaware in 2015 with two degrees, a Bachlor of Music in Music Education and a BM in Music Composition. I am currently attending the Hartt School of Music in Hartford, CT, where I am pursuing a Masters in Music Composition. I use the software program "Finale" in order to create the musical compositions that I prepare for my students. I always accompany my students on the piano. I believe that every student is unique and deserves a unique approach from myself as a teacher, so I do not stick to regimented lesson plans. I work each week to plan out how best to convey the information needed, but if things need to change in the lesson, I adapt to provide what is needed for the student to still grow.
