I teach Wunderkeys to pre-schoolers ages 4 5. This method gives them a head-start in math as well as patterning. I start beginner piano students (ages 6 and up) with Faber's Piano Adventures. I introduce intermediate students to Alfred's Premier Piano Course as this method starts them on solo repertoire. I prefer to use the first few lessons to get a grasp of what the student knows and what theyre looking to learn. Hal Leonard has a great starter program that is good for most students to begin with. Once some of the basics become established we will start learning scales and arpeggios. These help with finger dexterity and are also very important for all styles of music.
