I have been a music instructor since 1979. I teach the piano, spinet organ and keyboards. I also have a passion in MIDI computer music. I love seeing students excel and be given the opportunity to do well in their skill set. I started in September of 2018 with one student who I taught throughout the semester, and seeing him grow throughout the months was satisfying unlike anything else I've experienced. While students will find that their progress is influenced by their practice habits, it's also my goal to make clear what effective practice looks like, what kinds of questions they might ask to figure things out, and how to be patient with themselves. Different students have different levels of perception or assimilation. This i establish before i even start the introductory class proper. I do not pressure students to enter competitions and recitals are optional unless 10 or more students are willing to participate. I do encourage students to look for opportunity to play/sing in their school/church or in front of their friends/family for special occasions.
