For younger students (under eight years old) I usually use the Alfred all in one book.. for older children, I use the Bastian set of four books: piano performance, technic and theory. For adults and teenagers, I use the Alfred all in one adult method book. For gifted students, I use the John Thompson book (the one I learned from). Read More

I really love teaching because my mother is a piano teacher. I saw her teaching since I was very young. My mom is a very passionate teacher and her lesson was never boring. I can see the excitement from both of her and her students when she was teaching. When I become a piano teacher, I hope I can become someone like my mom who is always positive, passionate and enthusiastic but still very strict. Read More

I began piano lessons with my mother at the age of 8. At 17 I began studies with Irma Harter at the Edith McIntosh School of Music on Long Island, New York. I earned her Bachelor's degree at Adelphi University, where I studied exclusively with acclaimed concert and recording artist David Bradshaw. I also studied with Laurie Ticehurst-Poole at the Bryn Mawr Conservatory from 1996 to 2005, where I participated in master classes. I have performed in recitals at Carnegie Hall's Weill Concert Hall, and I participated in an international piano festival. Read More

As far a voice lessons goes, in the beginning there will be many warm-ups before we move on to repertoire. As an instructor, I want to know what type of voice I am working with. It is very important to exercise your vocal chords and train them to be able sing properly. Also, we will be working a lot on posture; how to stand when singing, showing confidence and more! I describe my teaching style as casual in that I tend to encourage creativity along with traditional classical music teaching. Also, I avoid repetitive drill and favor teaching derivation such as intervals as the basis of all scales and chords instead of memorizing scales. I integrate chords and chard variations as appropriate with the execution of a song. To emphasize the fun part of the lesson, which is song, the student participates in the song selections as well as the type of music which is taught. Read More
