Once they have grasped the reading of music, scales, and arpeggios I start branching out into a fundamental book such as Finger Power and we start working on songs that they find fun and interesting. Since every person is unique, I work with each student at his or her own pace and try to match my teaching style to the student's learning style. After that lessons become very personalized to the student's learning styles as well as their individual goals. Adult beginners I supplement with Faber.
