Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.
lessons are available in the following areas:
Instruments: Drums, Bass Guitar, Music
Attempting to learn an instrument is difficult, and doing so in the presence of an already experienced musician can be intimidating and even discouraging. I am well aware of this fact and make ample effort to make my students comfortable, and to own their music as their own. Each student I teach knows that they are not to simply become a copy of me- instead, their goal is to become their own unique creator that is unlike anyone else. Read More
Instruments: Piano, Music, Keyboard
I welcome children and adult students of all levels and abilities. My goal as a teacher is to support the unique spark in each individual while helping to develop his or her knowledge and enhancing their appreciation of music. I support students developing skill and expression with patience, humor and warmth. Areas of focus are performance (learning and polishing pieces), technique (developing finger control and agility), and music theory (the language of music) through creative work (improvisation and composition, including notation). I like to mix instructional books with opportunities to learn songs outside of the text books appropriate to the student's interests, style, and skill level. For the guitar, I like Terry Carter's Rock Like the Pros, Beginning Class Guitar Method and Intermediate Class Guitar Method. These books have comprehensive practice exercises, including classical and popular music exercises, and great songs of all levels to learn. The Mel Bay and Alfred music method books are also great for guitar or drums. Read More

I teach all students how to read music, play by ear, write their own songs, and overcome stage nervousness. With twice a year recitals for all students, the students will learn to love performing on stage. I teach the students what is important to them, and at the same time I teach them what they want to learn. Read More

I also discovered that I had a talent for making my students feel very relaxed during their lessons. I began to go beyond just teaching from one page to the next and started to explore the creative process of creating interesting lessons that would challenge, encourage, and engage, as my teaching style would always be adjusted and adapted to perfectly fit my students' individual learning styles. Since relocating to Northern California in 1999, I have continued to work with a diverse range of ensembles and am currently teaching at two music studios, conducting clinics at local schools, and running a number of small and large group ensembles, including woodwind quintets, sax quartets, jazz combos, and experimental music groups.
