My teaching experience began in college when I start teaching my first voice students in 2017. I have taught voice lessons to beginners who need help matching pitch. I have taught voice lessons to college students with varying performance backgrounds! I constantly strive to provide my students with a safe space so that learning can be as easy and fun as possible. I believe that voice lessons need to focus on putting skills and techniques into context, so the majority of our lesson time will be spent on working repertoire while incorporating healthy vocal technique. My passion for sharing knowledge begin during my time as high school tuba section leader, which led to Senior band president. Assisting my peers so we could sound better via musical corrections, this would build our confidence levels and the moral throughout the ensemble. For the advanced students (only voice, saxophone, and theory), we will be learning how to break down pieces by learning music theory. Form and analysis will be at the forefront of your performance as it is essential to gaining a deeper understanding of your pieces. I am a firm believer in using encouraging words over disciplinary actions when a student does something incorrectly. I have been playing violin for 40 years since I started at the age of 6. I minored in music education and trained under members of the United States Marine Band and National Symphony Orchestra. I currently play in the Gwinnett Symphony Orchestra. I used to play in community orchestras during high school and college levels. I also performed in quartets, chamber orchestras, duets, and other ensembles. I used to perform in violin recitals and violin competitions while growing up in the Washington DC areas. Read More
