I like to keep the mood lighthearted and fun while I am teaching, so that all students will feel comfortable and play to the best of their abilities. I do, however, believe in the importance of consistent and concentrated practice, and I will always tell a student if I feel that they are not putting enough work into their instrument. Because I know that people have busy schedules, I strive to teach students how to practice efficiently so that they can improve their playing even if they have limited time in the day in which to practice. I believe that the best way to learn music is to find ways to make practicing an instrument a fun and enjoyable endeavor. My life has always been about music, not only in performance, but in teaching, and collaboration. I believe everyone has music in them, no matter what age. I was so enamored by the sound of the piano and the classical piece that was being performed I immediately ran to my room, turned my little keyboard on and did my very best to imitate what I saw and heard. I began teaching private lessons full time in 2011. I know that when students have fun and see progress at every lesson, they are motivated to become better musicians. As a result, progress is quicker and my students retain what they have learned. I've also found that a combination of classical and modern music, as well as learning music I have composed, helps students enjoy the piano and motivates them to practice and continue to see improvements in their understanding and playing abilities. Hello! I am a drummer of 17 years. I graduated from the University of North Florida with a Bachelors of Music in 2021. I also minored in American Sign Language! I have played professionally throughout the United States, and I love what I do! What I love even more than performing is teaching and sharing my knowledge with my students.
