I have a lots of teaching experience in Korea and America. Both experience made me to be a stronger teacher and how to approach people having different voice. My teaching experience was started from church background. I started vocal performance when I was 20 years old. At the same time, I started to conduct a church choir and a professional choir as a vocal instructor and a assistant conductor in Korea. Read More

Guitar: For children, I prefer the FJH Young Beginner Guitar method, but for adults I would prefer Hal Leonard if the student is looking to learn both chords and melody using folk music. I could also teach guitar based on gospel and Christian praise music if the student prefers. I have taught students with an interest in rock music, but only to give them the basic foundation skills of chords and notes to build on with another teacher who has more of a rock music speciality. I am very passionate about music, both listening and performing. I perform regularly around the Twin Cities and the midwest. I recently received my Bachelors degree from Winona State University in Music Business and Jazz studies. I have toured with various groups and recorded several albums. I am constantly learning new things on the guitar and mandolin. I am classically trained but also study various forms of popular music. I am proficient in Jazz, Blues, Rock, Funk, and Bluegrass styles but not limited to those. Read More

Whatever type of music they are interested in playing, I find several examples to pull from that and use it as teaching material and relate it back to our foundational training. This keeps our lessons fun, engaging, and rewarding. For Drum set, I teach from Tommy Igoe's "Groove Essentials 1.0/2.0" and John Riley's "The Art of Bop Drumming". I encourage students to perform a recital but I like to stretch the definition of a "recital". Read More

The methods and approaches I use depend greatly on the student and their needs. The most important thing for me is to find repertoire that addresses the students needs and interests. For classical guitar students, there are a variety of methods that I regularly utilize (Julio Sagreras, The Royal Conservatory Series, Suzuki Guitar Method, Charles Duncan), and often supplement with other pieces/etudes. For other styles, I build lessons around playing music that the student is interested in, and include technical and musical exercises when needed. Read More

My teaching experience started back in 2009 as i was a freshman at McNally Smith College of Music. I really like to stress that practicing at least a half hour per day is key to help with finger strength and musle memory. I have been teaching from my home for seven years. The students that i have had really enjoyed my in depth knowlege of theiry the guitar and technique exercises. Read More

I have been performing since age 7 playing classical piano in recitals with my sister. I got my first guitar at the age of 12. At 15 I was playing around town with different bands. After years of playing in garage bands, I applied to Wayne State University and enrolled in their music department. I have a variety of musical experiences to draw from which is a benefit to my students. Read More
