I started to privately teach in the year 2003 in Italy, in my house. I always encourage my students to ask any question whenever they felt the need, and to constantly practice at home in order to get better and maintain their desire to learn something new. Despite teaching Rock music, and more precisely Hard Rock and Heavy Metal, I like my students to be open minded and learn as much as possible about different kinds of music because I think that a great musician is able to play anything. I like to encourage my students to join or form new bands and play their own music, even with people that are better than them, because it can be stimulating. Moreover, I like them to share their experience with me so I can concretely check their motivations and their improvements with the instrument.

I have worked for many years teaching, counseling and assisting students with their love and joy of music. During my teaching career I have also helped students with conflict resolution, coping skills, issues with and surrounding pride and culture, college selection, application processes, financing and preparation for college. I have taught a very diverse group of students, which has allowed me to learn various approaches to communicating and working with students from all walks of life. In addition, I have toured the world performing Jazz and other styles with various bands, taught upright and electric bass privately, and have released two CD’s of original compositions.

I try to cater my lesson style to the individual students desire and needs. I like to always incorporate the fundementals of music and technique while exploring the material at hand.  Some key points I try to incorporate into my teaching are an understanding of:  rhythm, technique, playing from ear, improvisation, theory, and most importantly making music!

I have been giving private lessons since I graduated high school. I received my master's in trumpet performance from the University of Wyoming, where I taught applied trumpet lessons, directed jazz ensembles, and lectured jazz theory and history courses. I enjoy working with students of all ages and ability levels. I believe that the concepts we cover in music lessons extend to other aspects of a student's life, and I love to see the positive impact I have on people. I was someone who was certainly not a natural when it came to playing the trumpet, and the struggles I've gone through on the instrument have given me the knowledge to accurately address these issues in student's playing.
