From there I tend to focus on a custom lesson plan entailing a combination of music/exercises I believe the student will benefit from and enjoy coupled with whatever the student them self wishes to learn whether it's a genre of music, a specific song or something else. I try to provide a good balance between working on theory, technique, and repertoire, and working on aspects that might be more fun like a students favorite song. This allows the student to make progress while also keeping motivated, which is really important for long term goals. For children, the balance has to lean more towards the more entertaining aspect, because of the reduced attention span. I actively work towards getting the younger students to increase their tolerance towards difficult challenges so that they can make more overall progress. Read More

I naturally fell into playing music after receiving my first guitar at age 10 and have been playing ever since for 14 years teaching for 6 of the latter years. Beginning by playing classic rock/punk/metal/hardcore venturing into various sub-genres catered to these styles throughout his teenage years when he started writing recording his own songs playing in various bands in the Tri State area.
