Hello, I am a saxophonist, composer, educator and multi-instrumentalist. I began playing the saxophone at age 12 and from the moment I first touched the horn, I was hooked. I believe that everything begins with fundamentals. That being said, it's most important to learn what the students goal is. Perhaps they only want to learn a particular piece that they are playing for Solo and Ensemble Contest. Perhaps it's an adult student that just wants to learn to play a particular piece for a special occasion. Lessons have to be tailored to to meet the individual students desires. I am an enthusiastic and passionate private flute instructor who loves working with students of all ages. I love to see students grow into better musicians with each lesson we have. In May of 2016, I graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Music Degree. I had an incredible opportunity to perform with the Texas State University Wind Symphony at the Collegiate Band Directors National Association conference in 2014. For my piano students, I teach them on a keyboard to get them familiarized with the layout of the piano. I teach proper fingerings, scales, and most importantly music theory. For my flute, clarinet, and saxophone students I work out of appropriate etude books for their performance level. I also teach jazz improvisation.
