Hi! My name is Nish M. I am an improvising musician, specializing in Woodwinds (primarily the Saxophone and Clarinet), Composing/Arranging/Producing/Recording. I attended the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in 2010 where I studied Jazz Performance. I stayed in Sydney until 2020, where I did a lot of work as a session musician, (The Voice, Solange Knowles, Yolanda Be Cool, ++...) In my private lessons I emphasize building a strong foundation in rhythm, intonation, and note accuracy.  I incorporate learning theory, and playing with musical intention into every lesson to develop maturity, even in young musicians.  My students are comfortable reading music, and have all the skills they need to practice effectively.  In addition, I have prepared many musicians for successful concerts, festivals, and gigs. It is extremely important to make sure each student has an very strong foundation and is comfortable with the basics of flute playing. To make lessons more personal we will move at the pace of the student, however most of the time their band director will have weekly playing assignments, It will be my goal to make sure each students is fully prepared for the assignment and for the more ambitious students, to go beyond.
