I am a very passionate music teacher, it's really who I am. I thrive off of opening the doors of music to people new to playing an instrument and teaching them a foundation upon which to grow. I graduated from UMASS Lowell with a Bachelors in Music Performancein 2014 and have 9 years of teaching experience in and around the Boston area. I play and manage a band called Skyfoot and have for about 6 years now. Read More

My teaching experience dates back to my college days when I was an instructor for the Rangeview High School percussion ensemble for two years. This led me to start teaching private drum lessons, live/studio session drumming, and music production. After college I was feeling like that music education was not keeping up with the music business. For beginning students i usually start with Hal Leonard's music books to get the fundamentals of music theory down. I also like to integrate learning styles of music and songs that my students want to learn from artists or bands they may like. I find that the best way to ensure a strong connection to the process of leaning is making it fun and creating a game plan for learning based on the individual. Read More

I ask all of my students to be prepared for their lessons with a notebook and pencil for lesson notes and assignments. I ask them to bring any materials they have and will often recommend books and supplemental material I have had success with. I believe in writing down notes that help students understand what they are learning, exactly what students should practice, and setting goals for their practice and overall progress. Read More

Teaching is my favorite thing to do. To help someone grow in their ability to play is really rewarding. I ask the student questions about what they want to learn and structure the lessons around that as well as give them information so they can converse intelligently with other players. The confidence a student gains as they work hard on a challenging assignment and truly get it - this will help them throughout life no matter what they may pursue. Read More
